Thanks to our speakers, panelists, partner organizations and the attendees for making the 2008 Maryland Biz/Bio Event a success!
Dear Attendee,
Thank you for joining us for the “Maryland Bioscience in the 21st Century?” conference on February 19. More than 150 guests attended and participated in this half-day forum. We would like to extend special thanks to our local and national partners who helped make the event a success.
The conference brought together representatives from the academic, business, research, public policy and government sectors to discuss Maryland’s bioscience industry and its prominent place in the nation’s future. Keynote speaker Andrew C. von Eschenbach, M.D., Commissioner of the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), closing speaker James Greenwood, President and CEO of the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), and our panels of industry experts and state appointed and elected officials spoke about the challenges facing the industry in Maryland as well as the tremendous opportunities that exist here.
The speakers agreed that Maryland is doing well, has great potential for growth and can attract new business and make the state more recognized for its bioscience initiatives. Equally important, the conference helped draw attention to public/private partnerships needed to sustain the state’s growing bioscience industry.
Also, please take a moment to complete the Event Evaluation. Your honest opinion and feedback will help us make future Biz/Bio events even more successful.
Thank you again for attending the conference. If you would like more information on upcoming Biz/Bio events, please contact me at:
